Known for its sunny beaches, Cyprus is a favorite tourist destination.
Just a 2.5-hour flight from Yerevan, the island offers a memorable vacation.
In January-June 2025, about 1,843,000 tourists arrived in Cyprus, which is almost 11.5% more than in the same period in 2024.
Popular beaches in Cyprus include Paphos and Coral Bay.
Paphos is known for its peaceful environment, sandy beaches, and archaeological monuments. It is home to the Archaeological Park and the Tombs of the Kings (a UNESCO World Heritage Site with its famous mosaics and rock-cut tombs). Coral Bay has a white sandy beach, which is suitable for sunbathing. Paphos Zoo, located in Coral Bay, is unique in Cyprus, as it is home to the third most extensive collection of birds in Europe.
Ayia Napa and Protaras are also among the famous beaches. Ayia Napa has 27 beaches, 14 of which have been awarded the Blue Flag. Cyherbia Botanical Garden is located on the Ayia Napa road, where nine organic aromatic herb gardens have been created, dedicated to Mediterranean plants, such as lavender, chamomile, rosemary, and oregano. It is considered the only "living labyrinth" in Cyprus.
The beaches of Nis and Makronissos are especially famous for their clear waters and golden sand. Protaras is suitable for a family holiday, while the beaches of Kyrenia and Alagadi are recommended for those looking for a more peaceful environment. Kyrenia has beautiful beaches, such as Escape.
Being in Cyprus, it is impossible not to try the honey-flavored Commandaria wine, which is one of the oldest in the world. The cuisine is flavored with the traditions of Greek-Mediterranean and Arabic cuisine, where small dishes of the "meze" type are the basis.
Cyprus, with its diversity and hospitality, remains among the choices of tourists this year.
