US President Donald Trump announced that the Coca-Cola Company has agreed to use real cane sugar in its drinks produced in the United States, following discussions initiated by him, according to Reuters.
"I have spoken with Coca-Cola about using real cane sugar in the United States, and they have agreed. Thank you to all those responsible," Trump wrote on the Truth Social platform.
A company representative stated that Coca-Cola will soon release details of the new products, noting that the company appreciates Trump's enthusiasm.
Currently, Coca-Cola products for the US market are sweetened with high-fructose corn syrup, whereas in other countries, such as Mexico, cane sugar is used.
The Trump administration's "Make America Healthy Again (MAHA)" initiative, which is based on Health Secretary Robert F. The movement, led by Kennedy Jr., is urging food manufacturers to reformulate their products, removing artificial colors and harmful additives.
