Lincoln's bloodstained gloves sold for $1.52 million

Former US President Abraham Lincoln's leather gloves, in his pocket on the day of the attack at Ford's Theatre, have been sold at auction.

According to the Associated Press, the gloves fetched the highest price, selling for $1.52 million.

Another item found on Lincoln the night of his assassination, a handkerchief, sold for $826,000.

Lincoln was shot by John Wilkes Booth on the night of April 14, 1865, during a performance of "Our American Cousin."

Also included in the auction was a "Wanted" poster depicting three assassination suspects, including Wilkes Booth, which sold for $762,500.

Lincoln's handwritten notebook from 1824, which the Associated Press says is the earliest known example of his handwriting, sold for $521,200.
