Paris police have recovered a bust of The Doors frontman Jim Morrison, which was stolen from the musician's grave in the Père Lachaise cemetery in 1988.
The sculpture was discovered by chance during a search concerning a fraud case. It is unknown who appropriated the Bust of Jim Morrison.
Judging by the photo on the judicial police's Instagram page, the bust looks the same as it did 37 years ago, covered in graffiti. At the time of Bust's disappearance, its nose and mouth were already damaged.
The author of the Bust of Jim Morrison is the Croatian artist Mladen Mikulin. The sculpture was installed on July 3, 1981, on the 10th anniversary of the death of Jim Morrison. The Bust disappeared in May 1998.
