Reuters reports that the television drama Adolescence has shocked audiences. More than 96 million people have watched the four-part British series since it was released on Netflix on March 13.
It begins with an armed police raid on the home of a terrified 13-year-old boy accused of murdering a young girl. The drama ends with a brutal depiction of the pain of the boy’s devastated family.
It should be noted that a true story inspires the series. Each episode was shot in a single take, without editing.
