Famous singer Shakira has canceled a concert scheduled for Sunday in Lima due to a stomach illness.
Shakira announced on Instagram and X platforms on Sunday afternoon that she was in the hospital and that doctors had advised her not to perform.
“I am very sad that I cannot go on stage today. I was excited to meet my beloved Peruvian audience,” she wrote.
The singer arrived in Peru on Friday evening and was scheduled to perform concerts on Sunday and Monday. It was the second stop on her Latin American tour after Brazil.
Shakira said she hopes to recover quickly. “I plan to give this concert as soon as possible. My team and the organizer are already working on a new date,” she said.
