This time, we will present classic Swiss cheese fondue.
Ingredients:
- 1 clove of garlic
- 450 grams of Gruyère cheese, grated
- 230 grams of Emmentaler cheese or other Swiss cheese, grated
- 1 glass of dry white wine
- 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon of fresh lemon juice
- 1 1/2 tablespoons sour cherry juice
- Freshly ground black pepper
- Freshly grated nutmeg
Rub the inside of the pot with garlic. Stir together grated cheese, cornstarch, and lemon juice.
Add to pot and cook over heat, stirring, for 30 seconds or until mixture is heated through.
Add the Gruyere and Emmental cheeses, stirring occasionally, until they melt (about 5 minutes).
Reduce heat to low, add sour cherry juice, pepper, and nutmeg, and stir until creamy and smooth (about 3 minutes). Serve immediately.
