In Italy, confectioner Roberto Linguanot, the author of the classic recipe for tiramisu sweets, died at 82 after a long illness, as reported by the "Corriere della Sera" newspaper.
Roberto Linguanotto created the classic tiramisu recipe with mascarpone cheese while working at "le Beccherie" restaurant in Treviso in the 1960s. As the confectioner said, the dessert was obtained due to a mistake. While making vanilla ice cream, he accidentally added eggs and sugar to a bowl. So, he replaced the abalone desserts made of egg yolks, sugar, and wine, as they had done in the restaurant before.
