British-American director Christopher Nolan, fresh off an Oscar win for the historical drama Oppenheimer, will receive a UK knighthood for his services to cinema.
His wife and film producer, Emma Thomas, will receive a dame (the female equivalent of a knighthood); Britain's government announced on Thursday the list of awards, proposed by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, also includes Conservative Party figures and leading tech industry executives.
