Three flares have been recorded on the Sun

A powerful solar flare is forecast today, Monday, which may disrupt shortwave communications. This was announced by Russian scientists, who recorded three flares on the sun on Sunday.

Moscow's Fedorov Institute of Applied Geophysics reported that X-class flares, including proton flares, are entirely possible. Shortwave radio operating conditions are expected to deteriorate.

X-class flares are the most enormous explosions in the solar system and can create long-lasting radiation storms. Proton flares are storms of energetic solar particles composed primarily of protons.

Solar flares occur when magnetic solid fields mix. They can affect Earth's magnetic field and potentially damage satellites and communications equipment.

In 2022, a geomagnetic storm caused by a large burst of solar radiation destroyed 40 newly launched SpaceX satellites.

Three flares were observed on Sunday, one lasting 14 minutes, accompanied by radio communication failures.
