A film starring a Gyumri actress is at the Arpa festival

The film “Shakkar,” starring Gyumri actress Mariam Vardanyan, who lives in the United States, has been selected as the main film of the Arpa International Film Festival. The World Premiere of Shakkar – Centerpiece Film will be held during the festival.

Mariam Vardanyan is one of the screenwriters and producers of the film Shakkar. The film was shot in Armenia, her birthplace.

“This film is especially close to my heart. It brought me back to my birthplace, Gyumri, with its streets, faces, and stories. You can feel at home in every frame of the film,” the actress wrote on her social media page.

The film’s international premiere will take place on November 8 at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles.

It should be noted that Mariam Vardanyan was born in Gyumri, studied at Secondary School No. 10 named after A. Petrosyan, performed at the Gyumri Drama Theater named after V. Achemyan, and has now lived in the United States for a long time.
