For about 15 years, February 19 has been celebrated as a day of book-giving in Armenia
February 19 is Hovhannes Tumanyan's birthday. In the Republic of Armenia, this day has been celebrated as Book Giving Day for about 15 years.
On the occasion of the holiday, RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan and Deputy Minister Alfred Kocharyan visited the Museum of Hovhannes Tumanyan, which was temporarily located in the "Hrant Matevosyan" cultural center.
Zhanna Andreasyan made a tour and got acquainted with the museum's activities under the hosting roof. According to the day's council, the minister donated books to the museum.
Zhanna Andreasyan was also present at the opening of the exhibition entitled "The Soul of a Traveler," "And Look! Look!" The photos, notes, and poetic lines reflected in the pieces tell about the travels of Hovhannes Tumanyan and Hrant Matevosyan.
Hovh opened the exhibition. Lusine Gharakhanyan is the acting director of the Tumanyan Museum, and Davit Matevosyan is the head of the "Hrant Matevosyan" cultural center.
The presentation of the 5th volume of the complete collection of Hovhannes Tumanyan's works took place within the framework of the event.
