A statue of Parajanov was unveiled in Yerevan, and it is planned to have a "Pomegranate Color" square.
Parajanov's statue was unveiled in the adjacent section of the cinema house, followed by the screening of "Episodes from the Life of Gioconda" by Davit Galstyan.
At the beginning of the events of the 100th anniversary of Sergey Parajanov, the Minister of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Zhanna Andreasyan, announced that there is a goal to create a park of stars and a "Pomegranate Color" square in front of the Cinema House.
"I hope that our more global perspective—to have a park of stars in front of the Cinema House, place a statue, and name the square within it—will be realized. We propose that the opposite square, where the statue of Parajanov will be placed, be named the "Pomegranate Color" square," he said, adding that in this way, Parajanov will be celebrated again.
