On May 18, the International Day of Museums, the "View from Ararat" exhibition was opened in the "Fujian" Museum of the Fujian Province of the People's Republic of China with the History Museum of Yerevan exhibits. It was organized according to the agreement signed between "Yerevan City History Museum" ANC, "Armenian-Chinese Partnership Center" NGO, and Fujian Museum. Yerevan Municipality informs.
Original and exclusive samples of Armenian costumes, jewelry, carpets, and embroidered items, photographs depicting Yerevan, and replicas of national costumes taken in the 1990s were presented.
The opening was attended by Li Kun, head of the PRC State Bureau of Cultural Assets, deputy minister of national culture and tourism; Zhang Yang, head of the Popularization Department of Fujian Province; Fu Qisheng, director of the Fujian Province Cultural Assets Bureau, deputy head of the Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism. Assistant to the RA Prime Minister Hakob Abrahamyan, President of the "Armenian-Chinese Partnership Center" Armen Mkhitaryan, representatives of Yerevan History Museum Lusine Amirjanyan and coordinator Gevorg Orbelyan, representatives of various Chinese museums and guests were also present at the exhibition. The collections above of the History Museum of Yerevan are being exhibited for the first time in the People's Republic of China.
The exhibition is also important because the Fujian Museum, with the "View from Ararat" exhibition, was chosen as the center for holding the International Museum Day of China events.
The exhibition will be open for two months, from May 18 to July 18, which will allow the Chinese visitor to get acquainted with the complexes of 19th-century costumes with gold threads, decorative blankets with exquisite embroidery, silver jewelry with high-performance techniques, and rich ornaments, which emphasize the Armenian culture: A person's aesthetic taste and refined sense of colors.
