The presentation of Yeghishe Charents' bilingual book "The Rainbow" and..." took place at the French Embassy in Armenia. The book was published with the support of the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports and the French Embassy in Armenia. It is dedicated to Yeghishe Charents' 125th birthday and 85th death anniversary.
Within the framework of the presentation, a press conference was held, the speakers of which were Guillaume Narjolet, Advisor for Culture and Cooperation of the French Embassy in Armenia, Astghik Marabyan, Head of the Department of Cultural Heritage and Folk Crafts of the RA Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Director of Yeghishe Charents House-Museum, Zhanna Manukyan, Chief Treasurer Anush Tasalyan, and Sr. researcher Gohar Charents.
Guillaume Narjolet, the adviser on culture and cooperation issues of the French Embassy in Armenia, welcomed the attendees and noted that he is extremely happy for the cooperation with Yeghishe Charents House-Museum, as a result of which Charents' book "Rainbow" and..." was translated and published in French.
"The book was translated from Armenian to French for the first time. The French Embassy needs to present Charents' works to the francophone public. Charents and his works are special for the Armenian people and us because we have solid cultural ties with Armenia. On behalf of the French Embassy, I would like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to Aram Barlesizian, the author of the French translation of the book," said Guillaume Narjolet and thanked all the individuals and organizations who contributed to the creation of the book.
Astghik Marabyan, head of the Department of Cultural Heritage and Folk Crafts of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Armenia, congratulated everyone on the critical initiative and noted that ahead of the anniversary year of the birth of Yeghishe Charents in 2021, the commission gave vital importance to the implementation of translation programs.
