Armenia will participate in the Frankfurt International Book Exhibition

With the support of the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, Armenia will participate in the Frankfurt International Book Exhibition on October 19-23, 2022, with a separate pavilion. This year, the Armenian pavilion is dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the birth of Yeghishe Charents.

The exhibition will present foreign-language Armenian literature published in Armenia and abroad in recent years and several cooperative programs.

The purpose of having a national pavilion at the Frankfurt International Book Fair is for literary agents and publishers to hold their meetings at the Armenian pavilion, present their publications and writers, and buy and sell property rights of works.

At the Armenian pavilion in Frankfurt, as well as representatives of other national pavilions and foreign publishing houses, the "Armenian literature in translations" grant program will be presented, with which the ministry supports publishing houses abroad that want to publish Armenian classical and modern literature in a foreign language in their country. The goal of the project is to make Armenian literature known outside the borders of our country. It also contributes to increasing the level of recognition of our culture and country. With the support of the "Armenian Literature in Translation" grant program, 67 books in more than 20 languages ​​have been published (and are in progress) abroad in the last 4 years.

The goals of Armenia's participation in the Frankfurt International Book Fair are international cooperation in the field of book distribution, popularization of Armenian literature abroad, development of all aspects of the literary field, preservation, development, and dissemination of literary, cultural heritage through academic products, creation of conditions for the reproduction and development of the creative potential of society.

As part of the Armenian delegation, the literary agencies "Ari," "First," the publishing houses "Antares," "Bookinist," "Newmeg," "YSU," "Mother See Surb Etchmiadzin," "Vernatun," "Edit Print," "GSM" and "Zangak" library will go to Frankfurt.

It should be noted that Armenia has been participating in Frankfurt, the world's most prestigious and largest exhibition, for more than twenty years. More than 7 thousand exhibitors from 100 countries participate in the event in five days.
