On September 5-10, 2022, the "Starmus" international festival was held in Armenia, within the framework of which the events included lectures and concerts, as well as scientific camps and round tables. About five dozen world-famous scientists, engineers, cosmonauts, and world stars of music and art, including Nobel Prize laureates, world-renowned scientists, stars of music and art, and prominent representatives of the technology sector, visited Armenia. The goal was to popularize science and make it accessible to many people, especially among students and youth.
For five days, we had the opportunity to communicate with the latest achievements of world cosmology and the scientists who created them, as well as with the masterpieces of famous and famous musicians. Today, the closing ceremony of the 6th international science and art festival took place at the Karen Demirchyan Sports Concert Complex in Yerevan, where RA President Vahagn Khachaturyan gave a speech. In his remarks, he emphasized that science and art are closely related, and their combination not only does not cause contradictions but also becomes a necessity and creativity.
"That's precisely what Starmus was in all its forms because when talented scientists Louis Friedman, Bethany Ellman, Scott Hubbard, Michelle Major, Lisa Kaltenegger, David Greenspoon, and others deliver lectures on the unraveling of the universe's myriad mysteries, they aim at the same time expand the listener's horizons, expand the worldview, and ultimately make him a little more conscious, a little better, more humanistic.
And when Brian May, Graham Gouldman, Serge Tankian, and other minor talents from Tavush perform, they, too, willy-nilly, try to make the universe more human-centered. After all, this is the noblest goal of art and science: knowledge and development," said the president.
Head of the Prime Minister's Office Arayik Harutyunyan also gave a speech. He stressed that "Starmus" went well; all the guests were satisfied and said it was the best festival for them. Araik Harutyunyan added that there is a great potential for science in Armenia, which was revealed during the festival itself.
The festival ended with "Alexey Leonov. With the premiere of the film "Space Inside."
