The text of US President Donald Trump's memorandum on suspending Section 907 of the Freedom Assistance Act concerning Azerbaijan has been published.
“I hereby certify that the suspension of Section 907 of the Freedom Assistance Act concerning Azerbaijan:
• It is necessary to support the efforts of the United States to combat international terrorism.
• is necessary to support the combat readiness of the United States Armed Forces or coalition partners in the fight against international terrorism.
• is essential for the security of the borders of Azerbaijan.
• will not undermine or hinder the ongoing efforts to negotiate a peaceful settlement between Armenia and Azerbaijan and will not be used for offensive purposes against Armenia.
Accordingly, I extend the suspension of Section 907 of the Freedom Assistance Act.
