Trump announces reinstatement of tariffs

CNN reports that US President Donald Trump has announced that he may reimpose "reciprocal" tariffs on some countries in the next two to three weeks.

He noted that tariffs will be imposed if no trade agreements are signed.

On April 9, Trump temporarily suspended these tariffs, giving them 90 days for negotiations. According to the administration, 90-100 countries are willing to negotiate, but time is running out.

Without agreements, tariffs could reach 50%, and for China - 145%.

International organizations warn that these tariffs could slow the global economy by reshaping trade and financial flows.

Currently, the US maintains a 10% general tariff on imported goods, with higher tariffs on some goods. The success of the negotiations is essential to prevent an economic crisis.
