"There is another option; first, the right bank can be integrated into the EU, then the left bank." Maia Sandu

Moldovan President Maia Sandu announced on Friday that Moldova could join the EU.
After the Security Council meeting, she announced that the authorities of Moldova intend to find a solution to the Transnistrian conflict with the participation of the European Union.

"The ideal way for Moldova is to join the European Union fully. That is, both the right and left banks. If this is not possible for one reason or another, there is another option by which the right bank can be first integrated into the European Union, then the left bank," she said.

According to her, the Transnistrian conflict arose because Moscow supported the separatist regime, and this support has maintained that separatist regime for years. "It is very unfair that people from the right and left banks of the Dniester are prevented from moving freely. All this is reprehensible, and the decision is clear: to get rid of this separatist regime. Then we will be able to reintegrate our country," she said.

The head of Moldova noted that "there is an agreement on a peacekeeping mission, but there is no agreement on the deployment of a military contingent."
