Turkey hopes to play a vital role in the new route from India to Europe

As discussions continue on the feasibility of an India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) agreement, experts say Turkey, which stands out for its geo-strategic position in the region, should be part of the process.

A memorandum of understanding was signed between India, the US, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), France, Germany, Italy, and the European Union at the G20 leaders' summit in India. The maritime project will help increase trade and develop India's connectivity with the Middle East and Europe.
