The USA is considering the possibility of creating small modular nuclear reactors in Armenia

Maria Longi, the Europe and Eurasia Support Coordinator at the US State Department, announced on Tuesday that to reduce energy dependence on Russia and China, the United States is considering building small modular reactors in several countries, including Armenia.

"In several countries, including Armenia, we are evaluating the feasibility of small modular nuclear reactors built with American technology, which can contribute to energy independence from Russia and the PRC (People's Republic of China)," Longi told the House of Representatives, during the Foreign Relations Committee hearings.
