5,000 people are surrounded in Bakhmut

About 5,000 people, including 37 children, remain in the Bakhmut settlement of the Donetsk region, which is almost surrounded by Russian forces. Pavel Kirilenko, the head of the Donetsk regional military administration, told on the telethon air. According to him, residents are located in different city areas and do not want to leave; some even hide from the evacuation.

"The parents, who are categorically against the evacuation, accuse us of trying to take them out by force. They are confident that they will withstand the shelling and stay in the city," the head of Donetsk Ova explained, noting that the 37 children left in the city life with their parents, without whose consent they cannot be evacuated.
