NATO will increase its presence from the Black Sea to the Baltic Sea

"The North Atlantic Alliance (NATO) will increase its presence "from the Black to the Baltic Sea." US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken announced at the press conference held in Bucharest.

"Our progress cannot be stopped. We will strengthen NATO's presence from the Black Sea to the Baltic Sea. And within the framework of these efforts, we are constantly working with each other. Romania is a significant participant in these and broader efforts to ensure that NATO is the most vigorous defense alliance," the US Secretary of State said after meeting with Romanian Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu.

Blinken also added that the Black Sea region is of strategic importance for the alliance and is an extremely important element of NATO's defense.

"We are committed to building modern and interoperable armed forces that will be useful throughout the NATO area, including the Black Sea," said the US Secretary of State.
