The EU is preparing new sanctions against Iran

The European Union is preparing to impose new sanctions against Iran due to its violent response to protests in the country after the death of activist Mahsa Amini.

New sanctions against Iran are the main topic of the agenda of the meeting of foreign ministers of EU member states in Brussels today.

Brussels still needs to release information on who may be affected by the restrictions. However, it is noted that up to 30 persons and institutions can be included in the sanctions list.

On October 17, the EU imposed sanctions on 11 Iranian citizens and 4 organizations in connection with the protests that erupted after the death of Mahsa Amini.
