Radar Interview

When Aliyev "spits" on the face of the West, he becomes a friend of the Kremlin. Norayr Norikyan (VIDEO)

The guest on Radar Armenia's "Radar Chat" program is Norayr Norikyan, the chairman of the "Ardar Armenia" party.

He referred to Aliyev's statements, the steps towards normalizing Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, the positions of the West and Russia, the dissatisfaction caused by the CSTO, and the possibility of a new escalation.

According to Norikyan, Aliyev has no right to poke his nose into Armenia's internal affairs. "We don't need peace anymore. He is trying to get the most out of Armenia. And the peace treaty is not signed because the Russian Federation is against it."

As for why the Armenian-Azerbaijani negotiations did not have the same activity before the fall of Nagorno-Karabakh, according to Norikyan, the West should have considered that the Russian Federation's wings were not wholly broken here. "Aliyev was guided by self-righteousness. When he spits on the face of the West, he becomes a friend of the Kremlin."

Regarding the CSTO, the politician notes dissatisfaction with the CSTO during Serzh Sargsyan's reign. "Let's talk plainly with the Russians. Aliyev did not retreat from his strategic goal. We do not know what doctrine Putin will come up with. As long as soldiers are standing on the border with rifles, there is a risk of escalation."
