An agreement on countering the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction was signed between Armenia and the USA
On May 2, RA Defense Minister Suren Papikyan received US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to RA Kristina Kvien.
During the meeting, the current course of cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and the United States in defense and development prospects was discussed. Both sides highly rate the current level of collaboration. The American side is ready to continue supporting the defense reforms implemented in Armenia.
Issues related to regional security were also discussed.
At the end of the meeting, Minister Papikyan and Ambassador Quinn signed the agreement on extending the validity period of the agreement "between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of the United States of America on cooperation in the field of countering the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction."
