Political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and France

On April 17, political consultations between Armenia's and France's foreign political departments were held in Yerevan. The consultations were led by RA Deputy Foreign Minister Paruyr Hovhannisyan, the Head of the Continental Europe Department of the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, and Brice Roquefault, the French Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group.

The parties addressed a wide range of issues of mutual interest. They emphasized the importance of further deepening the high-level political dialogue between Armenia and France. They also discussed the possibilities and perspectives of fully realizing the existing potential in defense, economy, culture, infrastructure development, strengthening institutional capacities, and other areas.

During the consultations, the interlocutors referred to the existing cooperation in international organizations and other multilateral platforms and issues related to the RA-EU partnership agenda.

Addressing the rights and needs of forcibly displaced Armenians from Nagorno-Karabakh, the support provided to RA in that regard, as well as other issues of a humanitarian nature, were also addressed.

The interlocutors exchanged ideas on urgent regional and international issues. Reference was made to the process of regulating relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Deputy Minister Paruyr Hovhannisyan presented the interlocutor with the latest regional developments, emphasizing RA positions on critical issues. The "Crossroads of Peace" project developed by the RA government was also presented to the French partners.
