Ararat Mirzoyan presented to Sameh Shukry the daily worsening humanitarian situation in Nagorno-Karabakh due to the blocking of the Lachin Corridor by Azerbaijan.

On January 29, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukry in Armenia as part of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi's delegation.

Ararat Mirzoyan highlighted the first official visit of the Egyptian leader to Armenia in the history of bilateral relations. It was noted on both sides that high-level mutual visits give a new charge to the development of Armenian-Egyptian cooperation.

The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Egypt exchanged ideas on the prospects of further deepening the existing cooperation in the fields of trade and economy, high technologies, and tourism. The parties also emphasized the expansion of the bilateral legal contract field. I've referred to strengthening cooperation between the two countries on multilateral platforms.

The interlocutors discussed issues of international and regional security and stability.

Reference was made to the process of regulating Armenia-Azerbaijan relations.

Ararat Mirzoyan presented to Sameh Shukry the daily worsening humanitarian situation in Nagorno-Karabakh due to Azerbaijan blocking the Lachin Corridor, emphasizing that Azerbaijan grossly violates the provisions of the tripartite declaration of November 9, 2020, and international humanitarian law. The Armenian side stressed that Azerbaijan aims to subject the Artsakh Armenians to ethnic cleansing.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia emphasized the need for practical and immediate steps to be taken by the international community regarding the unblocking of the Lachin Corridor and the restoration of safe and unhindered communication between Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh.

Ararat Mirzoyan also presented the latest developments in the Armenian-Turkish normalization process to his partner.
