"Neither Armenia nor Azerbaijan had plans for large-scale escalation." Aliyev to Putin

We are all concerned about escalating the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. Russian President Vladimir Putin announced this during a meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

"It is good that coordinated efforts prevented the escalation between Baku and Yerevan, but the situation remains tense," said the Russian President.

Aliyev informed that the situation on the border is stable and noted that the main thing is not to "destroy" the beginning process of normalization of relations.

"Maintaining the ceasefire regime shows that neither Armenia nor Azerbaijan had plans for a large-scale escalation," he said.
