Ararat Mirzoyan received the Russian co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group

On September 13, RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan received the Russian Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, Igor Khovaev, the special representative of the Russian Foreign Minister, for supporting the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Ararat Mirzoyan presented to Igor Khovaev the situation created as a result of the aggression unleashed against the sovereign territory of Armenia by the Azerbaijani armed forces at midnight on September 13, stressing the need to respond appropriately and adequately to the actions of Azerbaijan. At the same time, Minister Mirzoyan noted that Azerbaijan is torpedoing the efforts of the Armenian side to establish peace in the region by trying to achieve its ideological goals by force.

The interlocutors also referred to the preliminary agenda of the meeting, the issues related to the relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. The RA Foreign Minister noted that, especially in the current situation, the Armenian side expects the active involvement of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chair and co-chair countries.
